firemen dressed in protective gear. Midwest City firefighters, Kyle Keener, Kevin Miller, Mike Herren, Tony Williams, Mike Begley and Casey Rooney, public education, brought their fire truck from Station 2 in Midwest City to Mid-Del Technology Center to help emphasize what the preschoolers had been learning in class. Midwest City firefighters assisted the children in walking through their truck and also demonstrating how firefighters put on protective gear.
Mid-Del students enrolled in the Early Care and Education career program assisted the preschoolers in the demonstration. According to Glenda Crabtree, Early Care and Education instructor, “this is a great opportunity for our high school students to learn about effective teaching practices. Our high school students learn how to write lesson plans, teach the lessons, and prepare hands-on demonstrations to assist the three and four year olds in learning.”
